Tis the most wonderful musical time of the year, again. Only the bestest new Christmas songs, mostly original with a sprinkle of covers, are in this playlist. Tinseltunes galore!

It was a VERY good year for new Christmas songs. Trend: less sad singer-songwriters, more shoegaze.

The loud fuzz & dreamy reverb-brigade are represented by Slow Salvation (beautiful), Robin Kester, Reindeer Tribe, Bleachers and The Zolas. The Reindeer Tribe album is all pointy shoes gazing.

There are fun tracks (Vista Blue, The Cords, Kat Quinn), there are soulful songs (Bamboos, Say She She, DeRobert) and there are the odd ones (Thanks Light…, Cougar On A Meth Binge).
